Day 1: Agadir to Marrakech
Your 7-day desert journey begins in Agadir. We'll pick you up from the airport or your hotel and transport you to Marrakech. Marrakech, known as the "Red City," is a bustling metropolis filled with mosques, palaces, and gardens. You'll have a half-day tour to explore its enchanting attractions before spending the night in Marrakech.
Day 2: Marrakech to Boumalne
After breakfast, we'll depart from Marrakech and venture through the majestic Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi Ntichka pass at an elevation of 2,260 meters (6,867 feet) for breathtaking panoramic views. Our journey continues to the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a famous walled hamlet (Ksar) with a rich history. You'll enjoy lunch at an authentic Ait Benhaddou restaurant before visiting Ouarzazate, known as "Africa's Hollywood," where you'll see the Kasbah of Taourirte and the Atlas and CLA Studios. In the afternoon, we'll head to Boumalne Dades, passing through the Valley of the Roses, renowned for its rose harvest used in perfume, cosmetics, and rosewater production. Your overnight stay will be in Boumalne.
Day 3: Boumalne to Merzouga
Early in the morning, we'll depart from Boumalne for an adventure to the Sahara Desert in Merzouga. Along the way, we'll explore the Thousand Kasbahs Road and visit several Berber settlements. You'll have the opportunity to admire the magnificent Todgha Gorges, a series of limestone cliffs in Morocco's High Atlas Mountains. Our journey continues through Tinejdad, a Berber village famous for its palm groves, and Jorf, where you can witness the historic irrigation system. We'll also visit Erfoud, known for its fossil workers and the Date Market. Finally, we'll arrive in Merzouga and check into your desert accommodations.
Day 4: Merzouga Desert Exploration
On the fourth day, you'll have the opportunity to explore the captivating Merzouga desert, the centerpiece of our Morocco tours. Your day will begin with a visit to the Qatari-owned Morocco National 4X4 Auto Museum, followed by a trip to Khamlia, a charming village home to the Gnaoua people, known for their unique music performed on drums and castanets. You'll also get to discover one of Mifis' ancient MINES, where you can learn about the extraction of salt and kohl during the French colonization of Morocco. Additionally, you'll have the chance to meet a nomadic Berber tent family and visit Srij Lake, where camels are kept and flamingos migrate. In the afternoon, explore Hassi Labied's oasis, where you can witness traditional tunnel irrigation methods. Your day will culminate with a camel ride through the Erg Chebbi sand dunes to watch the sunset, followed by an overnight stay at a nearby Berber camp.
Day 5: Merzouga to Marrakech
On the fifth day of your 7-day desert adventure from Agadir, we'll head back to Ouarzazate. After breakfast, we'll return the camels to their starting point and visit the bustling souk in Rissani to explore local crafts. Later in the day, we'll travel through Draa Valley on our way to Agdez, crossing the Atlas Mountains to reach Marrakech, the "Red City." You'll have some free time to relax before spending the night in Marrakech.
Day 6: Marrakech Exploration
Spend the sixth day discovering the vibrant city of Marrakech, one of the world's oldest imperial cities and a popular hub for commerce and tourism. Your tour will include visits to the famous Jardin Majorelle, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian tombs, and the iconic Koutoubia Mosque with its impressive 66-meter-high tower. In the afternoon, explore the bustling main square of Jemaa El Fna Plaza, where you can witness traditional storytellers, singers, performers, snake charmers, and savor the aromas of delicious food grilled over hot coals. You'll spend another night at the same hotel in Marrakech.
Day 7: Marrakech to Agadir
On the final day of your 7-day desert excursion from Agadir, we'll drive you back to Agadir, where your journey will conclude. You'll be dropped off at the airport or your hotel, bringing your unforgettable adventure to an end.
