5 Days tour fez Merzouga Marrakech

Experience the very best bits and pieces of Moroccan culture through our private guided tours! This tour starts at the city of Fez, leading to the Middle Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, and finally Marrakech, for a maximum Moroccan experience. Just like the rest of our tours, it is customizable and can be personalized to fit your plans

For the first day of this trip, we will pick you up at Fes then head towards the Middle Atlas Mountains, visiting the towns of Ifrane and Azrou along the way. This will be an opportunity for us to take in the beauty of the area, and maybe catch a glimpse of the wild Barbary monkeys in the Azrou forests. We will then reach Midelt city, considered the heart of the Middle Atlas, where we will have lunch before continuing our journey. The journey will take us through the beautiful Ziz Valley before finally arriving at Merzouga, the gateway to the Erg Chebbi desert. . This is where we will enjoy the magnificent desert scenery before checking in at the Riad where we will spend the night.

For this next day of our tour, we will have a blast exploring Merzouga’s surroundings and learning more about the desert culture. First we will take a small tour through the dunes in a 4x4 vehicle, leading us to the historical Khamlia village. The reason why Khamlia is so important to the area is because the village is home to the masters of Gnaoua music. After this, we will make a quick stop at the Serji Lake where many seasonal birds live such as flamingos; then visit one of the nomad families living in the desert to learn more about their culture and lifestyle. We will head back to Merzouga for lunch, then go back to the hotel to relax for a little bit. This is where we will get to enjoy the magnificent desert scenery while riding on the back of camels through the sunset. The camel ride will take us to the hidden desert camp where we will have tasty traditional dishes for dinner, then spend the night in nomad tents.

This next morning, we will wake up to the most beautiful sunrise in the middle of the Desert. You can enjoy the area for a bit by walking around the dunes, before heading to breakfast. We will have breakfast in Merzouga then leave towards the famous Todra gorges, which is a hiking spot that attracts enthusiasts from all over the world. On our way there, we will stop at the famous Rissani city, where the biggest weekly market of the region takes place. We will also visit the town of Erfoud, known for the production of fossil marbles. Finally, we will get to the gorges of Todra, which will be a truly amazing sight to behold. After lunch and a walk through the gorges, we will drive to the valley of Dades and explore the area called “the road of the thousand Kasbahs” before heading to the Riad where we will spend the night.

For today, we will have breakfast then drive through the road of the thousand Kasbahs once more, leading us to Kalaat Mgouna. Kalaat Mgouna is Morocco’s capital of roses, where a dedicated festival is held annually. We will get to Ouarzazate city next, the Hollywood of Morocco, where we can take a tour of the famous cinema studios and museum. After this, we will explore the famous nearby Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is known for being the backdrop of many historical movies. The Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah is also a UNESCO world heritage site. After having lunch at the Kasbah, we will travel through the beautiful High Atlas Mountains and the Tizin Tichka pass to reach Marrakech city, our last destination.

The last day of our tour is going to be a long one, because today we will explore the wonders of Marrakech city through a guided tour. This of course will include some of the red city’s most important historical monuments such as Jamaa El Fna, the Bahia Palace, the Majorelle Garden and the Saadian tombs. We will enjoy our last day full together in city full of culture and history, which you can also freely explore on your own in the afternoon.
